Heroes,
Glory awaits those brave enough to venture into the Progression battlegrounds. Announcing a new tournament for organized play!
Format The tournament will take place in the form of a Swiss system with a top cut. Each match is a best-of-3 game series, played on untap.in. Following the top cut, the higher placement will choose the starting player in the first game. All other matches will be played with a die roll determining the starting player. Time limit for the full best-of-3 match is 90 minutes, with players entering End of Match Procedure once the allocated time is over as described in the Game Policy (see rules section). Players can mutually agree before the match start to ignore the time limit policy. The tournament will begin on September 9th. Players will be allowed 2 to 3 days to schedule and play their match – Friday-Saturday, Sunday-Monday, Tuesday-Thursday.
Card pool and deckbuilding There is only one legal set for the first tournament – Heroes of Azeroth. Additionally, players may use cards from Onyxia’s Lair Treasure pack only if they have the Onyxia’s Lair Achievement (see Onyxia’s Lair Raid below). As standard, deckbuilding requires a minimum deck size limit of 60 with a 10-card sideboard. There is no ban list.
Onyxia’s Lair Raid Successfully defeating Onyxia in August or September will grant the Onyxia’s Lair Achievement to all participating raiders. The achievement unlocks all Onyxia’s Lair treasure pack cards for deckbuilding. Acting as Onyxia in Onyxia’s Lair 5 times will be rewarded with a discord flair and an additional mystery prize before we move on to Opening the Dark Portal. The raids will be organised at least weekly and are available for any party of three players of a single faction. Only the Heroes of Azeroth card pool is available for deckbuilding. Players may use Onyxia’s Lair cards if they already have the Onyxia’s Lair achievement. Onyxia’s deck is of standard difficulty, meaning the raid boss has 2 copies of each card in the deck.
Onyxia players (updated 8/17/22): Tartaruga, KAELoftheMARSHES, Myst, Mad Scientist, Shadehealer
